Could you be turning off your customers?

One of the most common mistakes we see on websites is when companies talk about themselves too much. If you’re unsure if this is you, then a quick way to find out is to count mentions of your company name, ‘I’ or ‘we’ versus ‘you’ and ‘your’. You could also assess how far down in the text you talk about yourselves versus getting to your customers’ needs. Your website won’t be the only place that this happens; it will be in your social media, your leaflets, your proposals, you name it.

So what do you do if you are guilty of this? To move the focus over to your customers’ needs, you need to understand what matters to them and how to frame things in that way; that is a subject for another day.

Next week is a new month, we’re moving into spring, and we’ll be dealing with some spring subjects, including a bit of spring cleaning.
