Marketing metrics might not seem exciting at first, but they can reveal hidden insights that transform performance with little effort. Over the years, I’ve found valuable opportunities by regularly checking a few key areas. Here are three I recommend exploring:
Mobile vs. Desktop Performance
While “mobile-first” design should be the norm, many websites still fall short for mobile users. Compare metrics for desktop and mobile traffic. A big gap could signal issues with your mobile site that need fixing.
Site Search Behaviour
If your site has a search box, see what users are searching for. These queries reveal two things: what’s hard to find (pointing to layout issues) and what users expect to find (suggesting new content or services to add).
Bounce Rates on Key Pages
Check the bounce rates for your top landing pages. High rates might mean slow loading, unclear messaging, or poor design. Fixing these can boost engagement and conversions.
Every site is unique, so the best insights depend on your audience and goals. If you’d like help reviewing your analytics or fine-tuning metrics, feel free to reach out!
