Sport England’s ‘This Girl Can’ social media campaign
The campaign, which combines social media, a TV commercial and poster advertising, is the brainchild of Sport England, and aims to ‘inspire women to wiggle, jiggle, move and prove that judgement is a barrier that can be overcome’.
Featuring women of all ages, colours, shapes and sizes, the campaign shows ‘normal’ women exercising – and enjoying themselves whilst doing so. The poster and ad campaigns encourage women across the UK to get involved by sending their own photos and tweets, using the hashtag #thisgirlcan.
The aim of the campaign is to remove the fear of judgement that many women across the UK associate with sport, and highlight just how fun it can be to let go of that worry and exercise.
