Are you taking things too fast with your business relationships?

How would you feel if you went on a first date with somebody, and then they brought along their parents the next time you met? You might be doing the business equivalent with your marketing if you expect someone to go from seeing an advert or a blog post and then going straight to a sale or an ongoing commitment without getting to know anything about you. Marketing done well helps to build that “know, like and trust” with prospective customers before introducing a sale. So my challenge to you is to review your marketing and look at whether you’re spending all your time trying to get attention without building trust or if you’re in danger of being friend zoned by spending lots of time getting trust and never asking for the sale.

Next week we’ll deal with what to do if you feel unloved by your customers.
