"That's a bit more than we were expecting."

It's one of the hardest things to hear after you've put real care into a quote. The natural reaction is to wonder whether you've priced yourself out. Should you knock a bit off? Offer a discount to get it over the line?

Before you reach for the calculator, it's worth asking a different question. Could they actually see the value?

Price resistance is often less about the number and more about what sits around it. When people can't see clearly why your offer matters, how it helps, what it changes, what it saves them, any price feels like a stretch. When they can see it, the same price starts to feel sensible.

Imagine two proposals for the same project at the same price. One lists the tasks. The other explains the outcome: time back, fewer headaches, a clear result. Most buyers would pick the second, and feel better about paying for it.

The good news? You don't need to lower your price. You need to make your value easier to see, ideally before the price ever appears.

This week's prompt is simple. Choose your website, a recent proposal or your LinkedIn profile, and read it as a buyer would. Is the value obvious before they reach the number?
