How do you measure the seemingly immeasurable?

With digital marketing, not all things can be measured with clicks and views. For example, your messaging and the impact that it has on your social media, your email and your website performance. However, with a bit of forward planning you can use A/B split testing to check what version of something works.

An example with email marketing is that you can send different versions of:

  • Your subject line
  • Who the email comes from
  • What time of day something is sent
  •  And even the contents

…to see what works.

In your subject line, you could include somebody’s name, an incentive, or emojis. You could also test whether something is more likely to be opened if it’s sent from you versus your company.

Make sure that you only ever test ONE component so that you’re sure what made the impact.
