cycling to parisYou’ve probably heard about our website review fundraiser that is running throughout the whole of 2017. Well, in addition to that and our never-ending commitment to an important cause, we’ve set up a new fundraiser – this time it will test our physical skills – The ideal marketing team will be cycling to Paris!

Cycling to Paris

Over the 11th and 12th May our team will be taking part in a cycling challenge, biking the distance from Market Harborough to Paris (a whopping 354 miles) on a static bike. The journey, taking place in our office, will be divided between our eight team members over two working days.

How will it work?

The static bike will be set up in the middle of our office with us all doing alternate shifts. There’ll be no hiding and anyone taking it easy will be there for us all to see!

Alastair is going to kick things off at 6am on the Thursday (11th) and we’ll each do 30-minute bursts until 8pm. On day two, Hannah will start us off at 7am and we’re hoping to complete the challenge and ‘arrive’ in Paris by 8pm on Friday (12th) – just in time for celebratory drinks!

Regular updates of our progress will be posted on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. The route will take us through Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire and Sussex on the way to the Channel Tunnel.

354 miles in 27 hours works out at 13.1 miles an hour. That means each of us will need to complete a minimum of 6.5 miles in every half-hour stint. We’re up for the challenge but we’ll also be looking at our clients and local businesses to offer us some support. We’re not talking about motivational speeches, we want you to saddle up and cycle with us!

Want to help?

If you or your company are interested in helping us complete the challenge, get in touch with info@idealmarketingcompany.com– we’re sure there will be plenty of us in the office happy to swap a 30-minute shift with you!

We are hoping to raise a total of £1,000 for LOROS through our cycling fundraiser. Donations can be made on our Just Giving Page.

If you’re interested in finding out what a donation will go towards, visit their website here. As a general guide, £5 could pay for meals for a patient for a day, £10 could pay for the collection of a patient from home for day therapy and £25 could pay for a protective uniform for a nurse.
