As we enter November, John Lewis have been feeding the hype around their Christmas 2014 advert campaign with the launch of the ‘Twitter Twinkle’ app.Twitter_twinkle

The app promises to ‘light up your cover photo and share the Christmas cheer with a tweet from you to all your friends’. The launch of the app ties with this week’s Oxford Street Christmas light switch on, which John Lewis are sponsoring, as well as the release of their eagerly anticipated Christmas ad campaign.

The launch of this year’s ad was also announced on Twitter, with a tweet from the account on 3/11/2014  stating ‘ To those tweeters who have been asking about our Christmas Ad, we’ll be revealing it later this week – stay tuned!’.

John Lewis are not the only brand using a variety of social media platforms to drum up festive excitement, with competitor Debenhams launching their ‘Found It’ Christmas campaign on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter this week.
