The Angel Hotel is an establishment at the heart of the Market Harborough community. For visitors, the hotel appeals as a comfortable and friendly ‘home away from home’ and for Harborough residents, the establishment is popular due to its community focus.

The former 16th century coaching inn has 28 en-suite rooms with 21st century comforts, all whilst retaining much of the original charm and character. Alongside accommodation, the establishment has a restaurant, bar and conference rooms for business meetings that are available to non-residents and residents alike.

As a prevalent hotel option in Market Harborough, the owners were looking to increase the number of people visiting for food and drink.

With so much eating out competition in Market Harborough, although a high-quality option, The Angel Hotel was often seen first and foremost as a hotel. To reinforce the hotel’s drinking and dining options in Harborough, the hotel underwent a refurbishment to the downstairs area earlier this year.

The Angel Hotel refurbishment

The Angel Hotel’s transformation to its downstairs area included new wallpaper, furniture and flooring. Changes were made to the hotel’s reception, restaurant, lounge, conference rooms and a new outdoor seating area has been introduced. The renovation has given the establishment a complete new look.

Here are some pictures of the refurbishment:

“Our dining and drinking options were often overshadowed by our hotel facilities, but we’re proud to be much more than just a hotel,” explains Darren Barton, Manager at The Angel Hotel. “Market Harborough is good for many things and eating out is certainly one of them. We’re thrilled with the results of the refurbishment and we are looking forward to hearing what our new and existing customers think.”

The renovation came alongside a successful application by the hotel for an outdoor eating and drinking area on the high street. With the beautiful weather becoming the norm, it made sense for the hotel to make room for outdoor seating. Who could say no to a drink in the sunshine or alfresco dining?

What did The Ideal Marketing Company do?

Customers were kept up to date with the latest developments on the hotel’s refurbishment through social media and blog posts on the website. During the downtime, customers were frequently updated and involved in the refurbishment. Following the completion of the refurbishment, our PR team was able to gain coverage in the local area, including an article in the Leicester Mercury.
